Link ART Centres functional and established since 2018-19 to 2022-23:
There is 1 no of Anti-Retroviral Therapy Plus Centre and 2 nos of Facility Integrated ART Centres are functional in the State. Also 5nos of Link ART Centres are also functional to provide comprehensive care and treatment to all the People Living with HIV in our State
Government approved Link ART Centres functional recently in the FY 2022-23:
- Santirbazar DH
- Teliamura CHC
Feasibility assessment of Gandacharra SDH, Amarpur SDH, Bishramganj PHC completed and will be functional very soon.
Activities to combat the Prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Tripura through Tripura State AIDS Control Society:
- The behaviour change communication (BCC) to the High Risk Groups through Counselling and Services to prevent HIV/STD/STI and treatment as welldoneby 15 nos of TI NGOs and 2 nos of Link Worker Schemes throughout the State and 4 nos of One Stop Centres as on date.
- Total 8632 nos of Injecting Drug Users, 5928 nos of Female Sex Workers, and 872 nos of Man having Sex with Man high risk group populations are registered under the TI NGOs working under Tripura SACS till December, 2023. Among 8632 nos of IDUs cumulative 2662 are found HIV positive.
- For the increasing number of Injecting Drug Users and HIV positive cases among them in the State Opioid Substitute Therapy Centres has been established for their herm reduction and bring them to the mainstream of life in all the districts of the State. Total 7 nosof Stand Alone OST Centres and 16nos of Satellite OST Centres are now functional in the State to provide substitute therapy to the Injecting Drug users. Till October,23 total 5267 nos of Injecting Drug Users are registered under OST services among them 430 nos have completed treatment.
- 24 nos of Stand Alone Integrated Counselling & Testing Centre (SA-ICTC) and 133 nos of Facility Integrated Counselling and Testing Centres (F-ICTC), 3 nos of PPP model ICT Centres and 1 no of Mobile ICTC Van is functional in the State to detect the HIV infection status. From April- January, 24 total 1,44,117 nos of blood samples have been tested for HIV in the State and among them 1472 cases found HIV Positive (1.02%) and have been linked them to the treatment services.
- Awareness generation on HIV/AIDS through Mass Media, Mid Media, Mainstreaming, Youth Affairs activities are going on through the State every year in as a part of regular activity.
- 31 nos. of Red Ribbon Clubs are functional in Govt. Degree Colleges to generate Awareness among the Youths and students at College level.
- Conducting Trainings, Seminars,and Workshops with various Govt. and Private bodies to sensitize mass people regarding HIV/AIDS and adverse effect of Injecting drug use.
- Access to prompt diagnosis and treatment of Opportunistic infection ensures that PLHIVs live longer and have a better quality of life
- Monthly pension scheme of Rs.2000 is given to all the HIV positive people. Total 2183 nos of HIV positive people are getting this pension per month.
